Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often do I need to have my transmission serviced? A: We typically recommend every 30 to 50 thousand miles.

Q: What does a transmission service involve? A: It depends on the vehicle- if the transmission has a serviceable filter, we will drop the pan and do a full service with fluid and filter. If the transmission does not have a serviceable filter, we will manually flush a few quarts through the system and fill it up with fresh fluid.

Q: What is the difference between a rebuilt transmission and a new transmission? A: Rebuilt transmissions include upgraded parts such as billet torque converters. The purpose of rebuilt transmissions is to upgrade certain “flaws” that are in the OEM design.

Q: How long do rebuilds take? A: An in-house transmission rebuild usually takes 3 to 5 business days. Some transmissions need to be programmed which can take an extra day. Keep in mind that we outsource our parts so sometimes they take a little extra time to come in- most parts arrive the next business day.

Q: What vehicles do you specialize in? A: We specialize in Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors. We rebuild certain Honda transmissions as well. We replace the CVT transmissions in Nissans (only new replacements), and we install new, used, or reman options in Toyotas.
